Probably not because I just invented it. Everyone at work was telling me how they can't lose wieght so I came up with a plan. There are only 5 rules.
1. Don't eat sweets
2. Don't eat bread of any kind
3. Don't eat pototo chips (including the "os" snacks..Cheetos, Doritos ect...
4. Don't eat after 7pm
5. Don't drink soda/pop unless it's diet~If you really want to get crazy insert beer for this rule
There you go! It's so simple anyone can do it.

Simple rules, but not so simple to follow sometimes. No starch at all can be very hard...especially for somebody like me who LOVES bread. Keeping the junk food out is a lot easier for me.

1, 3, & 4 sound pretty good, as long as you omit diet drinks, too -- that crap is evil. And bread is life.
Here's my one rule diet:
Don't eat anything that comes in a package with an ingredients list.

No white food. If it's white, it's refined.

Good 'rules' because they are common sense. But if something says "diet" chances are you really don't want to eat it.
To me though, once you've gotten weight and diet under control, everyhing - including the 'forbidden' foods in moderation will not hurt you. The key is MODERATION. Something we all lack from time to time, or when it comes to food and drink... all the time. ;) :D

I can't find it, but I remember reading a study a couple of years back that the sweeteners in diet soda actually fool your body into thinking there is sugar, which makes it still activate the insulin, which, with no sugar to process causes more damage than drinking soda with sugar. Something to that effect, but it was a while ago I read it and I'm not all doctory, so that might not have been it...

No:
pasta, rice, breads, sugar, potatoes, soda, beer. Now you're talking.
Stop eating that stuff, add regular exercise, and you may have a chance.
Of course it's a judgement call whether or not life would be worth living if you gave up pasta, rice and beer.

Number 4, no eating after 7pm, really doesn't matter. That's a longstanding dieting myth that you're more likely to put on weight if you eat late at night. Nope. It's the total daily caloric intake that matters most.
Yes, but eating late inhibits sleep, which is very important when you are attempting to lose weight. So in a sense, yes, it does matter, but not necessarily from a caloric standpoint.

That would be extremely tough for me I think.

Eat slower. Most Americans seem to view mealtime as some weird competition.
