...NO NOISE GATE OR NOISE SUPPRESSOR

WHY AM I SHOUTING

I notice little or no difference when my noise suppressor is on or off...the ONLY time I use it is when I play metal and I crank the threshold up high

so who else has a huge pedalboard but no need of a noise suppressor or noise gate??

I run between 10-15 depending on mood with several drives, fuzzes, boosts etc... And I really like to stack.Never have I used a noise gate or anything of that nature or ever thought about it. Whatever happens happens, I can always roll off my volume on my gtr or hit the mute on my Peterson.

I've got 12 on the board, including four dirtboxes, but all my single coil guitars are well shielded. I have very little issue with noise.

I agree. Better to use FX that don't generate a lot of signal noise in the first place. Good cables, good shieidng in your guitars and a good power supply for your pedals are essential, too. IMHO, it's better to do as much you can to minimize noise in the first place, rather than try to eliminate it later with a noise gate.

Thats it right there...when I got my NS-2 years ago, I had crappy cables, and different pedals...I just recently noticed it doesnt do anything, on or off my classic 30 is silent and my DRRI has a little noise...but if I go straight to amp it still has noise
