Running sound for some friends of mine. I them before and they are a pretty decent band. The bass player is a member here and we used to play together in Barry Browns band (the country guy)
Yes, they will do Purple Rain tonight at the country bar.
Nice system the house has and the band is easy to work with. You can tell em what you need and they do it.
Just stay away from the SUCK knob and everything should be fine...

I think it's great experience for all players to spend some time out front. It would give them a different perspective on how things sound FOH as opposed to onstage.

I ran sound quite a few times years ago. I loved it. I learned a lot too.

I couldn't agree more. Running sound opened up my ears more than just about anything else I have done. There is much to be learned when you are placed in that situation, particularly if there are many and varied instruments and singers.

Cool gig, FOH is a monster education. Gain structure is your friend! You really get a grip on how sound works and the difference between great living room tone and great show tone. Highly recommended to anybody who wants to really understand tone.

I love running sound- it's a totally different challenge than playing onstage. Correct gain, EQ, blending the mix, pushing solos, monitor mixes, etc. all on the fly.
It really does give you some perspective, that's for sure.
