I'll tell the story, and the punchline is at the end=
The set up goes something like this... PA Announcer "Tonight one lucky fan is going to have a chance of making a shot from half court for ONE MILLION dollars! Please look up at the screen while the computer selects the lucky fan." Electronic wheels then spin on the display, stopping on a section then a row, and then a seat number. To much fanfare the guy is called down to the floor of the arena. He is then ushered off the court to some sort of green room where he can't hear what's going to happen next. The MC then tells us that the guy selected is a brother of a long time season ticket holder- the guy is a big Lakers fan and a real practical joker. They tell us that during the next time out the guy is going to come out and get one practice shot from half-court, then they will blind fold him and he will get the shot for the money. He tells us that when the blindfold goes on we are all to be quiet- then just after he shoots the ball we are to go nuts- yelling, screaming- the whole deal.
The guy comes out, misses the practice shot (but gets pretty close) and then puts these big blackout googles on. He takes the shot, and (which misses) and the crowd goes nuts! The guy takes of the glasses and starts running around, high fiving the announcers and everybody he can get to. In no time, they bring out the big cardboard check- On the amount it says "One Million Dollars" but the payee line says, "You've been Punk'd" They give him the big check and you see it all setting in on they guy when he realizes he didn't win. It was great!!
Oh yeah, and the Jazz beat 'da Bulls. :)
