I always found Dalton to be the most realistic of the bunch, followed by Daniel Craig. Connery and Moore being the more fun and savvy bonds to watch.

You can't be able to beat up James Bond.
I'm sure I could beat up Timothy Dalton.
Therefore...he can't be James Bond in my world.
Daniel Craig.
Niven as the elder Bond.

I couln't vote for both Connery and Craig, so I voted for Craig.

I thought Daniel Craig rocked in his first Bond appearance. Very understated, an "everyman's" Bond. Much more realistic than others IMHO.
Connery was all about being the Lady's Man - all about that Rat Pack-type lady killer class. Again, IMHO.
Roger Moore was great. He had a great way of pulling off classically understated British wit and humour.

When I was a kid, Brosnan was the current Bond. He naturally became my favorite just from Goldeneye. Back then I really wished it would have been him as Bond in Living Daylights (I think that's the one) that would have driven that 18-wheeler that does a crazy side-wheelie to dodge a rocket. That was an epic Bond moment by Dalton.
Also I find it ironic that there is so much support for Craig. A few years ago when he did his first Bond film, alot of people were saying "you can't have a blue-eyed, blonde-haired Bond!" Apparently he's made it work for him. I thought he did a good job, but I haven't watched a Bond film since Casino Royale was in theaters, or around that time.

Daniel Craig. He seems more raw, less polished, less "perfect"... More believable in the role I guess.
Craig is my favorite since Connery. Movies have changed a lot in 40 years, and the Bond franchise has evolved too. The early Bond films with Connery move along very slowly when you watch them today. However, IMO Connery set the gold standard and it is every subsequent actor's task to measure up.
Moore was the funniest. I think the Bond films made by him had the most comical bits.
Dalton was my least favorite.

Connery = Bond.
Craig is very close, though. He's terrific in the role. Easily the best since Connery.
Whenever I see the Tailer of Panama, it makes me wish Brosnan had played Bond more like his character in that movie.
Moore was hit and miss as Bond.
Dalton was horrible.

Roger Moore was there when I first became aware of Bond movies. I liked him a lot. And Jaws, too!
Daniel Craig is excellent.
The rest...I've just never gotten attached to.

Wow, surprised there is so much support for Roger Moore. I thought he was cartoonish (although the scripts didn't help).
For me Sean Connery, with Daniel Craig a very worthy second.

I voted for Connery. Moore, Dalton and Brosnan were too smooth and refined for me. Connery and Craig have rougher edges and a little more machismo going....which I guess I appreciate. Who are the other guys?

wow I can't believe More and Brosnan are so low. For me its a toss up between Craig and Brosnan. I find the newer movies are generally better overall.
Golden Eye is the best Bond video game of all time.

Pretty much this for me. I voted for the SNL Jeopardy contestant.

Roger Moore was the original choice for Bond, but he was committed to the Saint and that's how Connery got the role.
I just never bought into Moore as an action hero.

It was the one that started it all, but I think my favorite was Everything or Nothing. In the Co-Op mode especially, it's a riot.
Yeah, they are all pretty good. When Golden Eye came out though it was one of the best games.
What I like about Brosnan is that he is Bond in almost all his movies (Thomas Crown Affair etc), he's the most natural Bond...But then Craig is probably more like the book (real) Bond.

Craig is the most realistic. Moore had the best movies. Connery made the Bond character his own.
Still, Timothy Dalton deserves an honorable mention. Very underrated Bond.

I didn't know that.
Thought he was great in the Saint though and watched it all of the time.
Now if someone else had played the Saint afterwards I likely would have choosen Moore for the best.
You go for what you know most times.

What's interesting about Moore though is that even though he didn't look like a physical guy at all because of how prim and proper he was, his action/fight scenes were actually quite good.
That, to me, is VERY James Bond and part of his stealth nature. No one suspects him.
That's what good stunt guys get paid for.
But the actor needs to be able to convey himself as a legit action hero when he's not in a fight scene as well and Moore just didn't have that. Too much the English gentleman.

Connery is the blueprint for the character. That being said, I find Daniel Craig to be the closest, to Connery in his prime, as an actor.

It was funny watching the Bond marathon over Thanksgiving and seeing how the Bond flicks have changed over the years. From the hokey plots that were more than far fetched, the cool ladies man..... but that`s just Bond, to the new Craig movies. Seems movie goers like to see action. and the new Bond fills that slot. The Craig movies are very well done, I wish they would have more "believable gadgets", that might help separate the new Bond from just another good action flick. The next release will be out in 2011... I can`t wait!

Roger Moore was the Bond of record during my formative years, but Connery blows him away. I never thought I could like a Bond as much as Connery, until Craig came along. I'd rather watch a Craig movie than a Connery movie, but I'm not sure how much of that is due to the actor vs. the fact that I just prefer modern movies. I'd have to place them in this order:
1. Craig
2. Connery
3. Brosnan (although, in the same vein as an earlier post, there's absolutely no question that I could kick Brosnan's ass, and that's sort of problematic)
4. Dalton (very underrated)
5. Moore

I think it depends on your particular generation and the one you grew up with to an extent. I'll say this...
Sean Connery is obviously the best.
Roger Moore was my generation, so he holds the sentimental card.
Daniel Craig is my favorite to watch. I think they nailed it with hiring him.

Yes, he's the first Bond since SC that looks like he could take a punch. That scrapping fight scene in the hotel was vicious and brutal looking. I liked that it didn't have a glamorized look to it. It was ugly and scary the way a real fight to the death should be shown. It also looked like it could go either way which is another thing that most movies don't capture, that is, the luck involved in the struggle.

Pierce Brosnan ! Best bond ever.
I think if he had a shot RIGHT after Remington Steele, then he could have built up a long library of Bond films that would have backed that up for certain. Unfortunately he only got his last few parting shots in. Goldeneye still is one of the best Bond films tho.

Roger Moore?
Wasn't he like 100 around the time of the last few crappy Bond flicks shat out in the early 80s?
Connery, then Craig. I'll take the patrician Brosnan over Moore.
