Which field recorder to get?

I've been doing some research on a handheld digital recorder lately. Reviews seem to be good for the Tascam DR-07 and Zoom H2. I'd like something with decent onboard mics, a 1/4" input (so I could run an electric gutiar DI through a Pod), and the ability to overdub a couple of tracks.
The Tascam DP-004, although the size of a paperback book, looks good for the price as well.
Can anyone compare the DR07 and H2? If the Zoom only has a 1/8" input, can I convert that to 1/4" and run an electric into it?
Any suggestions out there?

I have the H2 and it's ok.
It does NOT have that crisp top end clarity I hoped for.
It's very inexpensive and sounds good, just not great.
