Same physical size as a regular Tele bridge p/u, but the output and tone of a P-90.
Does any pickup winder make such a beast?

There are people who make approximations, I have a Harmonic Design S90 that kicks booty. Wouldn't say it's just like a P90, then again there are P90's that aren't just like other P90s. There are others as well but off the top of my head I can't think of them.

Higher output version of the Vintage T Series Bridge with a rounder top end, a little more midrange, and more bottom end. Roll the tone control back a bit and get a somewhat convincing P-90/vintage humbucker tone. Flat pole design with graded Alnico 5 magnets. Vintage style cloth covered lead wire. Wax potted.

the fralin steel-pole (http://www.fralinpickups.com/telestyle_sp.asp#SP43B) is what you're looking for. a rod-magnet pickup is nothing like a p-90, no matter how hot it's wound.

Rio Grande Dirty Harry is supposed to be the P-90ish one. Brian at BG pickups makes one, but it's a ceramic pickup.

BG Pickups makes one. I have his strat P-90 and it is awesome. Very thick and nasty sounding (in a good way !)

there you go, two more good examples.
i think just about all of these use ceramic magnets. i guess alnico just doesn't work for the shrunk-down construction.

Vintage Vibe T-90. He has a unique design to his pickups that make it very easy to switch magnets on. The T-90 comes with A5 mags and ceramic mags, you use whichever you like best.
I put the Strat SP-90s in a friend's guitar and used the A5 mags. Awesome!

Yeah, I used to have a Tele with the Vintage Vibe T-90. I seem to remember mine having alnico magnets. Anyways, it was a great pickup that have some P-90 properties to it. I think the Rio Grande Dirty Harry is more 90ish.

I use Fralin's SP42 on one of my Teles. While the output is comparable to that of a "traditional" P-90, the sound is nothing like a P-90 to me. It would be like that as long as the pickup is mounted on a Tele bridge as it contributes *greatly* to the final sound.

S90 is a KILLER pup. Plenty of P90 mojo, but it's got it's own thing going on too. Never found a P90 fan that was dissatisfied with an S90.
I'm sure the recommended Lollar is cool too.

A Tele-sized P90 is never going to sound like a true P90 simply due to the difference in bobbin size. All of the pickups discussed so far use the P90 style of construction, but that's as far as they can get on the "identical" scale.
That said, there are some killer-sounding Tele P90s out there :D

Souther Ill here on TGP has the right idea when it comes to P90's and Tele's/Esquire's.
This is one of his.

Thanks! Not 100% sure, it was modified. This is a Creston & he hacks off the end of these bridges before using them on P90 guitars.
