My sister just called me freaking out. She has a 12 year old girl (my niece Nicole). From what I understand, a bunch of kids in her school got "busted" this afternoon for snorting Advil and doing something called "7 Up". Now obviously, I know about the soft drink but apparently the Advil and whatever 7 Up is are being used together. I cannot imagine the Advil would feel very good being ingested that way.
Have any of you guys heard anything about "7 Up" and this method of using Advil? Things are a lot different than they were when I was that age for sure.
Note: If this is at all a breach of my agreement when I joined TGP (drug references), please delete and accept my apologies. I'm just trying to get some info to help my sister.

Says here that 7 Up is another term for crack cocaine. I work in a large public high school and I've never heard the term, but I'll ask around.

Are you sure she didn't mean Adderall instead of Advil?
7up is a slang for crack but that seems unlikely based on their age, never know?

Maybe she has a sore throat.
If my doctor doesn't give me antibiotics, what can I do to feel better?
It will take several days for you to feel better, no matter what kind of sore throat you have. You can do several things to help your symptoms. If you have a fever or muscle aches, you can take a pain reliever like acetaminophin (Tylenol), aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil). Your doctor can tell you which pain reliever will work best for you. Cough drops or throat sprays may help your sore throat. Sometimes gargling with warm salt water helps. Soft cold foods, such as ice cream and popsicles, often are easier to eat. Be sure to rest and to drink lots of water or other clear liquids, such as Sprite or 7-Up.

Slang for drugs is extremely varied from place to place and is often specific to a small group or sub-group......it could refer to anything.

Does your niece use a lot of slang? Does she use the word "man" a lot? When she leaves does she say, "I'm splittin'?"

Good call Platypus..Make sure it is Advil and not Adderall. Adderall puts it in a whole different category..

That makes much more sense. People have been snorting Ritalin for years.
