Anybody know off the top of their head what a fender strat in an old style tolex covered square case weighs when boxed for shipping? I have a lame old bathroom scale that puts the weight in the case at under 20 lbs, not sure what a guitar box weighs
Somebody in Switzerland wants me to ship and I'm trying to figure out the USPS charges... are there any gotcha's about shipping to Europe that I or the buyer should know about?

USPS wont ship that over the pond it's too big. Your going to have to go FedEx economy or global express. FedEx is cheaper but it's going to break 200 either way.

USPS restrictions for Europe are 108" so a strat should be good. UPS for me has given cheaper rates for overseas shipping.
Dont forget if its over 2499 you need a importers/exporters licsense.

not sure where you are getting your info. but K-line shipped me a tele and a strat in hardshell cases to Germany...they cost between $75-$100 but I that was before the shipping prices increased due to the higher gas prices...

USPS $115, only insure for $675.
FedEx $240ish only covered to $1000.
UPS most expensive but can insure for full value.
