Hello, so I have this idea and was wondering if it has ever been implemented before.
So I'm getting an AC30H2L combo, and was wondering if there's a mod where you can bypass the amp and use it solely as a cab with a separate head and even A/B it with the actual amp.
Am I dreaming? Do you understand?

Not sure if that'd neccessarily be a mod or a product feature trick...

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think the speakers in the vox combos are wired to a plug that connects into a jack on the bottom of the chassis. If so, you just pull that plug out and plug it in to another head. You may need an extension for the speaker cable (either a female -> male cable, or a female-female connector + another cable). I'm sure they sell those online somewhere.
If you want to a/b the vox with another head through the vox combo speakers, you'll need a cab switcher. Radial makes one called the Headbone. To use it, you'd run one cable out of the vox amp speaker jack to the headbone, another cable from the second head to the headbone, and then plug the speaker output of the headbone into the vox cab (as described above).

I'm thinking that rerouting the signal from another head while the AC30 (and vice versa) still needs to see a speaker load may not be the best idea. Anyone know of a work-around?
bumpsies.

That's just what the headbone (mentioned above) does:

Never mind me then. I'll be purchasing one of those... didn't know such a thing existed.

I do the same thing except I had a $5 dollar cord built with a female jack so I could just plug my speakers from the combo into a head if I wanted to, thus turning my combo into a cab if I need to.

Hehehe....I set up all my combos with long enough speaker cables so I can use the speakers only with different heads, or run them with their speakers and a 4x12 they may be sitting on.
One because it's cool
Two because you never know when an amp might crap out.
