this year, i got out of credit card debt, and got enough in savings for an exit plan if my mortgage goes south. i was smart with purchases and sold things when big ticket items needed buying. it was all about getting right financially, i got it done just under the wire, and dammit i'm proud of myself!

Lost my job, my wife left, got a divorce. I'm thinking of getting a dog, so he can run away.

Not my best year.

On the bright side, think how much better 2010 will be!

Cheers,
Cowboy

Mine was so bad I think would be better if I just don't go into detail.

In the spirit of the season I'll say I hope you and I and everyone here has a better 2010 :)

I started a new band and have had the time of my life gigging.
Made some great new friends
I bought an amazing vintage Fender Tremolux
I tracked down the Telecaster I stupidly sold when I was 18, and bought it back (best gear purchase I have ever done (and I did it twice))

Went through about 12 different amps and think I see the light at the end of the tunnel! :bong

Survived 2 rounds of layoffs and now doing someone else's job as well as my old job :messedup

Practiced like crazy and am a much better player yet on the guitarz AND drums, this year was huge for some reason!

Found that posting less and reading more wastes less time! :knitting

Made some new cyber friends here !! :beer

The Tone Doctor's post reminded me...

Good thing: I met 3 fellow Gear Pagers in real life this year - Flyin' Brian, Midnight Lady and wstsidela! All great folks :)

Girlfriend brought me a new kitten, Waffle
Passed all my classes minus all the distractions

First, I got up.
Then, I went downtown. To look for a job.
The next day...

A year ago I was a single guy in an apartment.

Now I'm sitting in a house with a wife.

Changed jobs. A massive upgrade.

Finally reached a semi-stable GAS coefficient. Don't think I'm going to get bored of my 1954 Tweed Deluxe any time soon.

Started taking guitar lessons again and improved more in the past 9 months than in the past 19 years.

Finally started a band with sympathetic musicians.

Been the most significant year in my life, I think.

Hmmm...
MIL died suddenly.
Got laid off (with an Email) from a job I only had for 4 months, previous job I had for 18 years.
Found a job a month later, for 20% less pay.
Found a band to gig with to make up the shortfall. After 2 bad auditions with other bands.

So things are looking up, sorta.

Then by best friend was murdered.

2009 sucks. I'm ready for the end of it.

Started a new band this fall and it's going great.
Moved my business forward comfortably.
Didn't climb as many mountains this year because of time spent on my business.
Found some beautiful new roads for motorcycle tours.
Pretty okay year for the most part.

Kid one continued his amazing trip thru life. He now lives in Augusta, GA and we miss him a lot. He'll be here in about 5 hours. (For 6 days!)

Kid 2 is out of school for about a month then will begin her final semester. She'll student teach from home most of this last semester and then she'll start pulling away.

Kid 3 is in her last year of High School and is (FINALLY) thru cheerleading. She's looking forward to college next year.

Pam's lookin' after all of us and keeping up our herd of pets.

Me? I'm just toddlin' along tryin' to keep us out of the poor house and playin' a bit of guitar when I get the chance. I have to get a new degree to keep my job and have to go back to COLLEGE next year!

All in all, we're doin' just fine. You'd be lucky to be me.

Merry Christmas!

Kept my job but took a 10% wage cut. Kids are almost grown. I'm good compared to some.

I accidentally stabbed myself... twice, severely burned myself once (3rd degree), and was handcuffed and detained by Missouri police for driving my own vehicle. 2009 was pretty rough.

On the plus side, I finally bought the Gibson I've wanted since I was 15 years old, and found a very cool vintage fender amplifier, all in about a weeks time here in December, so I guess there's a bright side to every story.

Here's to a hell of a lot better 2010!
