So far I think my lint roller (thanks Mom!) take the cake.

Sadly, they have also quickly become my favorites. :)

my parents gave me a handmade wooden puzzle box shaped like a banjo.
mom proceeded to tell me, "it's a little box, so you can store little stuff it!".
my dad dryly added, "yeah, like some green stuff..". ... :bong?

they also bought me a coaster for wine bottles. do they need coasters!?

My sister and I have been passing this big stuffed talking orangutan back and forth for three or four years. I got it again!....( it's starting to get a little beat up too!)

Tell me more about this. :) I'd love to have that stuff. Does it work (somewhat - make sounds, light up, etc.)?

Is it cheap plastic toys, or is it well made?

They work enough that I have annoyed everyone in the house with them all. :)

The Phaser:

Three settings plus "Overload". :)
The Type I comes out of the Type II (giggle)

Tricorder:

Has a probe, but it's pretty dumb
Lights up a couple of different ways
Has Spock talking about 10 different sayings
Makes the cool "Scanning" noise that I just can't get enough of
The little moire pattern screen rotates - cool, but noisy.

Communicator:

Has "Red alert" mode. Set it, close it, 5 secs later it beeps. Open it and it chirps, then Spocks asks if he should send down an armed landing party (more giggling).
also has 10 or so sayings
The little moire pattern screen rotates - cool, but noisy.

The build specs are obviously wll done. Very realistic. The downside is that if anyone sat on say the phaser, it would be toast. These are definately NOT $1000 metal replicas, but they're cool as hell and loads of fun for an old Trekkie nerd like me. :)

I also got a kickass Yaesu VX-6R submersable portable mil-spec ham radio. So far I've played with the communicator more. :nuts

For Generic Winter Holiday this year, I got an absinthe fountain from my wife. But that doesn't hold a candle to what her mother gave me for Christmas last year: A nativity.

This might not sound strange at all, except that I'm Jewish.

Yes, she knows I'm Jewish. No, she was not kidding. This is the same person who, several years ago, tried to get me to call my folks on Christmas day, and couldn't understand why I wouldn't feel I should do so. I couldn't understand why she'd even ask, but some things defy explanation.

Not me, but my sister gave my neice a big ol package of....bubble wrap. She even went so far as to wrap her gifts and wrap those gifts in bubble wrap. My neice also wanted pears and Slim Jim sausage sticks.
