Purdie is so good. When my friends and I first saw those videos (the one you posted as well as the "Samba Time Baby" one) we couldn't get enough of it. So funky and he's so jolly and silly- all around great. Love his work on King Curtis' Live at Fillmore West.

I love it ! Both vids ! I saw him here in Cleveland with Reubin Wilson, in a organ trio format....That is just to cool. I'd like to try to add spme pf that thinking to my guitar playing...some how.. Ohhhhh Jack.....

Purdie toured with none other than Jeff Beck in '75.
You want to hear these two worlds collide?
Glad you asked...

No one does it like Bernard Purdie. You can't listen to him play and not start tapping your feet and bobbing your head.

Check out Bernard Purdie's playing with Hummingbird, which included most of the Jeff Beck group from the Rough & Ready (1971) and Jeff Beck Group (1972) era:

Funkay!
He was on the 2nd and 3rd albums. The first album with a different drummer is also excellent. These recordings are hard to find. Good luck and enjoy!

yeah! My favorite group from the 70's era that rarely sees the day of light. I have the first CD - bought it in CANADA several years ago...
