I was wondering what the difference between Sylvania's with red and yellow print? I have some sets of 6L6GC's. One pair has yellow print. Anyone with insight into this? Are they the same design/manufacture? Also, if they happen to draw the same current can I make a quad out of them? Thanks!

They're very close, but were made in different years. As long as they are 6L6GC's and they are 8mA or closer to each other, yes you can make a quad out of them. Those older Sylvania's are great sounding tubes. I use Sylvania 6CA7's and they are awesome. Those are called, "Fat Boys" BTW.

Thanks. So that's it huh? Sometimes with tubes the most subtle differences warrant a huge difference in value but I guess in this case it's just a different color print!?

Yeah.. but dont make that assumption with Fender/Groove tubes. Colour DOES matter.
