Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has had an issue like the one I am experiencing with my King of Tone:

I plug into the pedal and play, it sounds perfect for about a minute then the signal drops off and the pedal cuts out. This happens with both batteries (tried four different ones) and a 9V adapter. I tried several different guitars and cables.

Has anyone had a similar issue? I am going to call Analogman in the morning to see if they know what the issue could be...

Thanks!

IF it is working then cutting out , I would bet a hundred it is just a loose solder connectio.

If it is hit or miss when you turn it on , turn it off then i would say switch .
Sounds like an easy fix either way .

The weird thing is, it happens on both sides of the pedal (both switches). I'll poke around for a cold joint....

You can also send Mike an email. He's extremely fast on responses and of course, Analogman has top notch service.

I would still say cold joint somewhere ( switch, 9v supply, or jacks ) , But either way Mike should be able to patch it up easy enough .

Ok, it's fixed! So the issue was that a resistor was touching a cap... no idea why it was causing an issue, but as soon as I bent it a little the sound came back full!

Awesome glad you was able to knock it out yourself without sending it back .

I thought all the components were board mounted though .. Are there off board components in the KOT ?

They are all board mounted, from my recollection, but I believe the resistors are standing up instead of flat on the board.. like the old maxon units
