My hero!

I just heard that he was voted MVP yet again.
He deserves his own thread here on TGP.
No matter what you think of him...he's a proven winner,
and one of the best to ever play the QB position. The pinnacle
of the modern NFL QB model as a matter of fact, IMO.
HOF material?...duh. Not a doubt in my mind.

With his arm, his endurance (just behind Favre with most consecutive starts) and his brain/savvy...coupled with a will to win, no matter what
the odds...he is inspiring to watch.

I look forward to seeing him lead the team onward to...well, you know where. ;)

:)

Congrats Peyton...man, you've earned it.

GO COLTS!!!!

I have him in my top three of all time: Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana and Peyton Manning. Put em in any order you want...

As a Pats fan.. I hate the mother#@$*er:bumpbump !! But I agree he is a hall of famer and one of the greatest to ever play QB ! And deserves the MVP this year.

Meh...jealous of his talent, and seems like a regular dude....but don't really think he was the MVP this year....Favre made a hell of an impact in MN...Rivers had a great year....Chris Johnson was huge....aw Hell....I dunno....

Props to Peyton. He deserved it, and I expected it.

BUT, as I said in the other thread, not sure how he got a 'landslide' win.....Drew had better stats in almost every category [rating, compl. pct, TD/Int].

If Favre had won it, the MVP award would have officially become a farce.

Totally agree. Thought it would have been closer.

Deserved it. He basically runs that whole team. Does it with no running game and his receivers were mostly nobodies.

Yeah, we don't really like playing against him and I think
that speaks for itself...

but I do like his commercials and that SNL skit where he
was a total jackass was an absolute riot...

Great player who had a great year...but I thought Rivers was the better QB in the AFC this year.

An amazing player. I love that he is given the freedom to run the offense like an old-school QB.

Not to sound like a total homer, but it should have been Brees.

Here's my "Annual-Tag-Onto-Jato's-Peyton-Thread."

Peyton STILL comes to Knoxville frequently, helping various charities and just being a basic good guy. He will never be forgotten for his days wearing the BIG ORANGE. Much love in this city for the man, as well as the player!

Well-deserved honor for Peyton. He is awesome. If it had been up to him, he would've stayed in the Jets game and whipped their ass and the Texans would be playing on TV right now.

BTW, Bengals just scored. 7-0. Totally different team from last week.

Good lord, I hated "the man" when he played for Tennessee Vols and played against "da' Hogs". I hated him even more when his Colts beat "da' Bears" in the Superbowl. BUT...

Peyton Manning IS "THE MAN"!

In a nutshell! His preparation and command of the game are just unbelievable. What a mind for the game. Easily Top 5 All-Time.

Agreed.....Peyton's great.....but I really wish they would wait until the playoffs were over to vote for this award.

He's had a great season.

Cool. I think the Jet's game showed how important he is to this team. IMO, he's the greatest of all time.

Should have been Favre....
:facepalm

Favre? Get ready for his patented choke in the playoffs, like he has the last 2 seasons. If he makes it to the SB I will apologize to you. He's good but he's not that good. Don't forget he has the most interceptions record...

Although I agree that Favre wasn't the MVP this year, you are dead wrong on your assessments of him.

I was at UT at the same time as Peyton. I sat next to him in the Hodges library computer lab once. He asked me for help to open his email (telnet days). I couldn't help but notice the subject line from an email he received: "Panties". Probably from a chick.

BTW, during Peyton's "senior year" he was technically a grad student. He was the top student in the communications department (graduating his junior year).

I hate the Mannings, especially Peyton, everyone knows it should have been between Favre and Brees. With Favre winning of course, and that's coming from a die hard Bears Fan. Can't wait for Peyton to quit and just become a coach, thats where he belongs.

He's a heck of a player, of this there is no doubt. He should be MVP every year since the NFL rules changed to allow him to do his thing.

Anyone remember when a QB would get a flag for a head bob? Manning is walking the line, flappin his wings like a chicken, pointing out blitzers......and of course we have the 5 yd. contact rule in place since NE kicked the snot out of Marvin and Co. 5 or so years ago.

I'm not sayin he's not a great QB, one of the best ever IMO, but it seems to me that he's been given advantages QB's of the past did not have.
