My God, Eddie is burning here.

Man, I miss the days when he played like that! God bless him.

Thanks, I dont think I've heard that before.
MAn, did he ever play hungry back then.

I knew you folks would express my sentiments. You can hear fire in his solos that I really have not heard before in his playing.

There was a period of time from the mid-to-late 70's up through about the Diver Down record where pretty much no one could touch Ed in terms of attitude, ability, feel and badassedness in the rock/hard rock guitar world. He just took things to another level.

He does a Zep Physical Graffiti tune and just tears it up..... I have it somewhere on a bootleg disc. I was feeling bad for Jimmy
The rover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu2IbWYxgAY)
Now I'm itching to find the us festival recording where they basically do what would be called girl gone bad and slip in the chorus to Glad...
These links can send me in a tailspin and I am gone for an hour or so.
On that rover link there's a robin trower tune at the end! Holy crap! I'd never heard that before. That's cool!
The Fool In Me
that phaser is rockin in this clip all the way through.

Awesome stuff. Hard to believe he was that good back in '75. That was his "pre tap days" too. Some great fast playing and phrasing and swing feel. It was like Clapton on speed.
