There was a period of time from the mid-to-late 70's up through about the Diver Down record where pretty much no one could touch Ed in terms of attitude, ability, feel and badassedness in the rock/hard rock guitar world. He just took things to another level.

Awesome stuff. Hard to believe he was that good back in '75. That was his "pre tap days" too. Some great fast playing and phrasing and swing feel. It was like Clapton on speed.
