So, I saw this on Craigslist, and I don't know too much, but it looked like a steal to me: Bassman Cab. (http://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/1580021492.html) Please don't steal this out from under me if you live in Nashville! (Please? haha) I mean, it seemed like a great deal to me, but like I said, I don't know too much about cabs, so I just thought I would check and see what you guys thought. $140 has to be a good deal for a vintage Bassman cab, right? He also told me he could switch the wiring for me to change it to 16 ohms, so I could run it with one of my Vox amps or something. What are all of your thoughts? Should I get it, or not?

Grab it! If I lived in Nashville I probably would have bought it before you could post the question...

Ummmm yea that's a good deal. Looks like CTS speakers and it will sound fantastic with what ever you decide to run through it. If you don't buy it let us know at that price it's worth paying for shipping so you better get cracking.

Interesting. I got the exact opposite reaction over at Harmony-Central. I was told that the Bassman cabs with the 15" speakers are too bulky to really be useful for anything, and that this very easily could just be a Bandmaster cab or something that the guy relabeled. The general consensus over there was that it was an ok deal if I just needed any extension cab, but that it wouldn't be a very quality cabinet.
You guys obviously disagree?

It has casters, but I bet there's no way it fits comfortably in my Mustang haha.

I'm pretty sure that Bandmasters never came with a 2/15 cabinet. AT least I never saw one. I have had the opposite experience with those speakers, I'd sell them immediately and get something else. It's worth the money.

How much do you think those speakers are worth? How much would say the cab is worth altogether?

I'm not a huge fan of those cab's or speakers. They aren't bad, but they aren't amazing either. A lot of people locally can't give those cab's away. They usually are very inexpensive.
Not sure why one speaker was spray painted with primer. Also, one picture has casters, and one doesn't. Might want to ask about that.
All of that being said, if you want the cab, it's not a horrible deal. Those speakers are worth about $50 each. Maybe a bit more if you can find someone who really needs one.

So maybe I'd be better off spending my money on a Mastery Bridge. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.

I've got that cabinet it is mid 1970's, yes it is big, but i have youth, muscle, and
hatchbacks. Now far as sound I would upgrade the speakers they're probably Utahs(?). I don't have the funds for said upgrade. I use a 67 Bassman head w/ cabinet,
and like the sound. I tend use another amp w/ it to gains some mids/reverb. It has
a big sound w/ two 15". I got the head and cab from my buddy for very cheap. It isn't the worst, but I will upgrade speakers in future.

Alright. Thanks for the help. That sounds like it's something I don't really need then, so I'll pass. Thanks.
