difference between WAV and REX2 files

hey guys, I'm thinking about picking up some more drum loops and was wondering if there was any major differences between WAV and REX2 files. The software that I'm using (Cubase and Drumcore) can work with either format. So, I'm just wondering does it really matter which format I choose?

REX2 file can conform to the tempo you are working with. WAV files don't care about tempo, they are what they are.
