I need help from the Fender pro's here. I have this American Deluxe Strat that has a 50th anniversary neck plate on it, but I was under the impression that all the 50th ann were burst. Anyone clear this up?

I checked the photos; it is a 2004 American Deluxe Strat based on the "DZ4" serial number - although you would have to remove the neck to verify the actual production date through the stamps on the body and neck.

All 2004 USA-made non-reissue Strats (the American Series and the American Deluxe models) had that "50th Anniversary of the Stratocaster" neck plate. You are correct that there was a special "50th Anniversary American Deluxe" that was only available in sunburst; it also had gold hardware, the "50th Anniversary" logo on the pickguard (near the back), and a tweed case with the "50th Anniversary" logo on the inside of the case lid.

Basically all USA "modern" Strats had that anniversary neck plate but they weren't necessarily "special anniversary editions".
