Does anyone own both?

How do they compare?

I'm guessing the guys that have $700 invested in their Klons will tell you how they are totally different beasts. I just don't buy it. Boost is a boost is a boost. I just bought an Exotic Ep-3 booster and it sounds more or less like the boost on my BOR though the BOR has much more output. The Ep has less hiss at the same level of boost and it may be a smidge warmer but you'd really have to have a beyond critical ear to really notice. I do like the fact that the Ep is really really quiet for the amount of boost it offers. Never tried the Klon but for the used market prices I have no interest. I highly recommend the Ep if your in the market for a nice booster at a great price.

I have both, and use(d) each as a clean boost only. The RC is an excellent buy for the money, offering in addition to gain, an EQ so you can effectively dial in either fat or thin. It's fairly transparent.

The Klon puts its somewhat middy tone in the signal, and that that makes me happy. It is the most 'amp like' of any OD I've tried, and will make lots of less than good amps sound good. It make things bigger & bolder. What surprises me is how good it makes my little practice Roland Cube 60 sound.

+1 Klon :beer

I've tried the RC and own the Klon (paid $344 from Bill a few months ago not $700). The RC has its own thing going. It is a straight up clean boost that doesn't color your tone that much IMO. The Klon is a tonally different animal. It will color your tone in a good way with a mid-hump. The Klon has some fat tones that are dialed in at just about any setting.

I have a Klon, and wanted a second for my smaller board, but Im not sure when the release date will be for the new smaller Klon.

I used to own an RC Booster, and for some amps it's great, and some it isnt.
My current gigging amp it isnt necessary so I sold it, NOW Im wanting another boost and needed a comparison, as it has been quite a while since I used an RC.
