Hey guys. A friend of mine recently gave me this set of pickups.

They're stamped Gibson USA on the back, and read 13.8K and 7.9K. That's where the normal part ends.

AS you can see from the picture, they have CLEAR bobbins, and what appears to be blue-enamel coated wire!! :huh

He said they were out of a Gibson "Blue Lady" SG or something like that. I've tried doing some searching, but can't find any info.

Can anyone shed some light onto these mystery wacky pickups?

A forum member, about a year ago, posted pics of his black/purple SG that was CRAZY looking but very very cool... I cant remember the exact model name, but his had purple wire in the pickups. I bet this is the same type of deal. When he see's this thread Im sure he will notice it.

Cool! The specs are pretty close to what the 498T and 490R specs are. I wonder if they're just weird looking standard buckers.

If I remember correctly, they are "regular" production type pickups in terms of their specs... they just substituted the color wire and clear bobbins, so you're probably right.
