Got this in a trade Sunday

I was jamming with a friend of mine last weekend and I saw this cool old guitar in the corner, covered in stickers. I recognized it instantly and asked whose it was. It turned out it belonged to the drummer in the friend's band, but no one was using it. I played it and liked it a lot, so I offered to trade my Crate V18 and a Bad Monkey pedal, neither of which I was using much for it. When I went back to jam with them again Sunday, we did the deal. The values were pretty close, and it was a win win. They got an amp that is a definite step up from the Behringer they had been using, and I got a cool guitar in trade for an amp I hadn't been using much.

The guitar was in decent shape, with a little wear and some stickers. An evening's work and it was cleaned up and looking good. Even with old rusty strings and no setup work in years it played great. The pickups are nasty and mean, in a good way. For some reason it reminds me of a pissed off Tele. It's not going to be my main guitar, but it has it's own sound that I definitely dig. Once I start gigging again, I'll definitely play it out. The only problem is the pickups are microphonic, but I can deal with that since it only happens when the volume and tone are on max, plus I have a noise gate I can use. Overall I'm very happy with it. One note- this one is something of an oddball as T-15s go. I looked for some pics, and I can't find another one with a black guard. All the natural ones I see have a cream guard.

All I see in that picture is a pickguard... ;)

I think T-60s used black guards, so maybe somebody did some swappin'?

:rotflmaoI didn't realize how well it would blend in. I'll get some better pics as soon as all this snow melts. Here in Iowa, this has been one of the snowiest winters ever and there's a couple feet on the ground as of now.

And the thought did occur to me, but T60s were bigger and the pickguards were, too. They had 4 knobs instead of two so I don't think that would work. I do like the look of the black a lot, since it looks like a smaller T-60.
