Can usually find good dirt tones, but clean tones are hard to come by. Would prefer to spend less than $500, but to fix the problem I could go all the way to an Eleven Rack if I had to.

Thanks

Listen to clips of the Tech 21 Blonde and Ethos recorded direct. I sat and A/B'd both and they are very close (clean channel of the Ethos). I kept the Blonde more along the lines of format and power supply issues, and since you can get it to start sounding very tweedish or scoop it out and it sounds very blackface. It's analog, not modeling, and delivers some awfully useable tones for $150. The Liverpool does very nice cleans as well, and the two together can sound beautiful, but the Liverpool's forte to my ears is slightly clipped.
