I finally picked up an OCD V4 and stacking it with an MXR Micro Amp (for now...), and am LOVING IT! Now, I'm thinking I need to replace the Micro Amp with a Timmy. Next is an Empress Tremolo. I have to sell my 89 Les Paul Special first, then I will get both and who know what else. Any suggestions base on what I already use? I have ALWAYS been content with Boss, MXR, and Morley pedals, but now, they don't seem to cut it! Thanks all you TGPers! I hate you all! I'm going to be broke! :D
Actually, I'm kidding! Thank you all for introducing me to QUALITY TONE! :bow

The OCD is a great pedal dude. Glad you're happy and rocking that thing!
I'd advise you to wait on ditching your stuff for a little while to make sure it's not an impulse to go boutique. Make sure anything you trade for sounds better to you first.
Specifically, I definitely wouldn't get rid of that Micro Amp. MXR has two of the finest clean boosts IMO in the Micro Amp and CAE MC401 boost/line driver. I always have one or the other at the beginning of my board.
In short, more expensive isn't always "better." I've learned that after wasting a lot of money lol. But on the other hand that's money spent on fun! I don't know... just trying to add perspective. Good luck!

Thanks, Pete and Blues. I may hold on to the Micro Amp for a while then, but I'm a tremolo junkie and have been using a Boss TR-2 FOREVER and just got rid of it (for the Micro Amp), because I didn't know it could get better. Then I saw the Diamond, which I dug, but it was ALL OVER when I saw the Empress! :bow MUST...HAVE...ONE...:rotflmao

The OCD is a rockin pedal. I play with a Super Hard on and the CAE MC401 in front of it and its amazing!
My singer spotted my pedal and thought it fit my personality. Best OD I have used.

:rotflmao... the name alone should make the OCD a must buy for gear-pagers

Try it at 18 volts. You'll like it. Even livelier and more headroom.

I must be one of the few people who hates the OCD, nay ANY OD or Distortion pedal, at 18 volts. They loose the grit feel in playing for me. In fact I use batteries for most of my OD's. Actually a few of the old 9 volts from my phasers or delays I use for my dirt and especially my fuzz pedals.
That sag tone is just...it's just... well its just dreamy.

For boosting the ocd for solos try using a compressor that gets above unity gain or a tubescreamer. You will love it.

I must say that I really love the OCD as a preamp. Alot of times I'll set it to beef up the signal and give it a little more cut and roll my guitar volume back a tad. I have an old TS10 I got in a trade. I'll have to experiment more as to stacking. I am also waiting for my TIMMY!

I go through periods where I get a bit frustrated with it, but in the last 4 years, I've yet to find an OD/distortion that will give me what the OCD does...I've had a V.2 and a V.4 and I think I'll always own one. Great pedal!

Timmy OCD is a great combo. Throw the empress para eq at the end to brighten it up a bit. Until I did that I was skeptical about that combo.
The empress trem is great but the para eq is the place to start. How often do u use trem anyways ?

I've always been a stacker / experimenter with boosts. The OCD v4 is one of my favorite pedals and has become my main drive (through a Twin Reverb). Recently I've been solo-boosting it with my BD-2 (unmodded) and...wow. With the BD-2 set at slightly above noon on gain and level, it adds just a touch more sustain and volume and is the perfect compliment to the OCD. Those two pedals along with my DS-1 for harder rock are all I need for my cover band. And the OCD gets used for ALMOST everything these days.
Curious as to whether the rest of you are using the LP or HP setting....

I was really frustrated with the volume drop when using the TR-2, so I didn't use it as much as I would've liked. With the Empress, I will use it on about a third of our songs.
