Hey TGP,
Anyone hip to HH? I first heard him on a lot of "christian" type late 70's/80's things, most notably Koinonia...He always sounded so good. Kinda Carltonesque, but w/ better time and arguably better tone.
I was always impressed w/ how he always plays within what he knows he can execute, which is of course another way of saying that he prehears what he is going to play. As a result of this his phrasing/time is very polished.
I read he is w/ Neil Diamond nowadays...I wonder where he lives now?

Yeah, I listened to a bit of Hadley as well - small label Christian stuff if I recall - some GREAT players that never got much deserved attention IMO. There was a series of these recordings if I recall correctly, kind of like the ECM artists.

Met Hadley in the early 80's at a CCM music thing in Estes Park. Nice guy, had some tips on amp mods for me. Also a treat to see/hear Abe Laboriel ( Sr.)

Yeah, there were a number of christian things from that time frame that totally kicked arse. Also all the great left coast studio guys were all over those recordings, which is how I got into them...Anyone heard of Roby Duke? Man that guy could freaking sing....I also recall a guy called Steve Archer who had an OUTSTANDING voice...

Yeah, I believe that was it... I think there was a keyboardist named Richard Souther, but he also recorded under another name - some GREAT stuff!
