Hi,
I've got a Jeckyll & Hyde V2 pedal that I wanted to use to switch on distortion into an amp's clean channel. Unfortunately the distortion from the Hyde part isnt what I was looking for. I'm after a pedal that can jump into a really heavy distortion that can also provide clarity in the notes/chords being played. I would mainly like to play heavy low end palm muting and also heavy, distorted, crunch rhythm.
lately I've heard of the Wampler Triple Wreck Distortion pedal. Anyone using this pedal? Would anyone recommend it for what I'm aiming to do with my clean amp?
Also, if I were to get this pedal, would you's recommend selling the Jeckyll & Hyde?

I haven't tried one myself, but I've heard they are really good for getting that Boogie Rectifier tone. I'm pretty sure there are some youtube clips out there that will give you and idea of the sounds you can get.
I would also recommend looking into the following as well to get that really nice palm muted crunch without being overly distorted
Suhr Riot
Tonefreak Severe
Menatone None More Black

Thanks for that mspizziri,
I'll have a look into those pedals as well and make a decision hopefully soon. If only there were a lot of good demos for each of those pedals.

I have the triple wreck. Check out Burger's youtube vid. It's pretty much what I'm getting. One of the most versatile pedals I've found. Functional EQ feature with a crunch to cream knob, and a boost to get into muff territory. Lots of sounds here. Can get gainy so be careful of the treble knob. Nice pedal.
Never played the J&H

Dude. Get the Triple Wreck. I know the bloke who's asking. He asks me about gear every day at work.
Get the Triple Wreck and look for Burgerman666's Youtube vid on it. But not at work. You need volume, and turn the bass up.

The Wampler is much better IMO.

Thanks heaps guys!
I've just made my purchase for the wampler triple wreck from the mad ape. Just need to wait for it to arrive, hopefully sometime next week.
Btw, Burgerman666's demo of the pedal is pretty sick! You's have to check it out. It'll pretty much push you to buy one. I dunno, it's just what I reckon. See for youselves.

Be patient with your Triple Wreck. It's easy to just turn up the knobs, but too far and you'll blow up the world. There's a limit to how far you can push it before it goes into uncontrollable squeal (especially when you engage the boost switch), but once you find the sweet spots, you'll find out what this pedal is all about. I'm not even a metal player and I love it for the wide range of distortion it has. The tone controls are very sensitive so take your time with them. It's a great pedal!
