This is an appreciation thread, y'all.

I got turned on to Lurrie in the late nineties, but I just dug Mercurial Son out of my CD pile, and DAMN!

What a great, great record! I can't believe I haven't listened to it lately.

And his guitar style is the sh!t. Style, cousin! Style!

Costello fans: listen to "Lurries Hipshank" with the vocal, and in the first guitar break you'll hear a lick (and tone) that S.C. iron-on transferred into a song on "We Can Get Together" (another great effin album).

Lurrie lovers, unite!

I really dig Lurrie Bell. His style, tone and touch really satisfy me.

Of course, Carey Bell (his dad) absolutely floored me with his harp playing.

Thanks for bringing up Lurrie's name. I'm gonna spin some Bell today! :)

I've been a fan of Lurrie's since the first time I saw him back in 1981. He's a bad ass player.

Check out his new one, Let's Talk About Love. It kills.

"Satisfying" is a perfect description of his whole bag on the guitar.

Thanks for the head's up on the new release!
