All I have are some lyrics. There's kind of a pre-chorus that goes:

(Chorus)

Does that ring a bell for anybody? Song title? Band? Thanks!!

You are SO the man! I never would have guessed Fogelberg; I was thinking it might be America. It's been stuck in my head for a couple of days. Thanks a 1,000,000! So, was that his second hit, after the "I'll be in love with you" song?

FYI , all you have to do is google any lyrics you do know , in quotes , and your golden.
