Just a vid I found on YOUTUBE.
I believe this is the 6L6 version.
Check out the tone at about 3:20.
These amps really get such a wonderful range of useful tones.
I have been the very happy owner of a Shiva 6L6 1x12 combo for the last 6 years or so and I will keep it for life.

I have had a Shiva for 9 years. Bought it used for $1500. Now I have had other amps, but I am not subject to the endless "tonequest" and amp after amp trials and tribulations that other seem to have. Amp goes from country to hard rock and alice in chains territory with a treble booster. It does it all.

I have an older EL34 model with reverb. I can get some great tones from that amp. There is less Shiva love around here than there used to be. Wonder why.

Wow, that video is a 6L6 model! Sounds smooth. When I think of 6L6 amps, I think scooped and Fendery. NICE!

I've noticed it too. I recently posted a thread called "anyone still digging their Shivas" and only about 8 people replied.

I bought a Germino Club 40 a few months ago and didn't power up my Shiva (which needed new tubes) for months. the other day I got the Shiva retubed and re-biased and put it up against the Germino. It's different, but every bit as good.

Like someone said above, the Shiva's been overshadowed by all the new boutique amps that have come out in the last few years. Are they really better than the Shiva? I think it's questionable. The video shows how the Shiva -- dialed in properly and demo'd by a great player -- is still a totally amazing amp.

I thikn there is a LOT of hype in the boutique market. Nothing wrong with a Shiva though! But, you'll never catch me spending 3-4K for an amp. :)

Absolutely agree. I love my non-reverb EL34 Shiva. One of the best channel switching amps around, and it's extremely versatile and cuts through extremely well. Good stuff!

The Shiva is the one and only amp out there that still tugs on me to buy it . Wonderful amps in every way.

Good. That may mean the prices will come down and more people who know good tone but couldn't afford a Shiva now will.

I just bought a EL34 Shiva combo a few months ago after buying and selling a whole range of the so called "boutique" amps - Soldano, Dr Z, Bad Cat, Matchless, Budda, etc. They are all good amps but the Shiva is the best. I wish I had known about the Shiva before I wasted my time (and money) with all the other amps.

Had I never played a Shiva before, that demo alone would make me a believer.

I'm thinking that guy in the video could make any amp sound good.

Best kept seceret is that the 6L6 Shiva is the best of them...I have owned the EL34 model and have tested the 20th with KT88's, the 6L6 Shiva rules. That being said, I prefer 6L6/5881 amps anyway. More round lows and highs, the amp takes care of the midrange having a Marshall style circuit in the overdrive channel...so the mid frequencies don't need any help.

The Shiva was my main gigging amp for 7 years...switched to the Egnater Mod 50 for the added flexibility for gigs...the tone is very similar.

I have owned 3 EL34 Shivas and, after hearing this video, I think the 6L6 is a better fit for me. Great stuff!!

Not me, i have tried plenty of 6L6 amps and hate the scoop in the mids! People can tell me till I am blue in the face that the amp takes care of the mids but there is a reason why Marshall can cut a mix like no other. I find tons better feell with EL34 amps, highs are smoother and warmer, mids are more musical. 6L6 amps to me sound far too glassy on the top. Great if doing clean tones. I love 6L6 tubes in a Fender however. :)
