Son is looking for a reverb pedal for his board in a small footprint. He has looked at the holy grail and the Boss RV-5 but has not had a chance to really play them. Any suggestions.

Hardwire RV-7, WET Reverb. There are many good ones these days it seems.

Wet, ands down, amazing reverb, super small size. My battery powered micro rig is a Wet Reverb, a Dr. Scientest Tremolessence, and a Lovepedal mini amp combo cab with the amp disconnected (so it's a cab only) and using a Noisy Cricket instead.

Even Mr Springgy is now available in a small size...

Strymon Blue Sky.
"Oh, that doesn't have a small footprint!"
But it does. It has all top jacks. And the pedal is 4" wide. Which is the exact same width as a typical 'small box' pedal with 2 right angle George L's coming out of side jacks. And then of course there's that whole, "the Blue Sky is the best reverb pedal I've ever used" thing too ;)
