I finally upgraded to Sky HD yesterday, and although the image quality is great, it seems to be highlighting a fault in my screen.

Basically any image or text that is either red or of a red hue has quite bad white ghosting.
This problem was always there, but now that everything is so sharp it's far more noticeable.

Anybody got any ideas on what is causing this/how to fix it?

I'm thinking the answer is probably 'buy a new TV', but I thought it would be worth a shot trying to figure out.

Try turning off any artificial sharpening settings or filters in the menu. Or try turning down the sharpness itself.

Yeah, tried that - it does improve the ghosting slightly, but it's still very apparently, especially on text.

What technology is the TV? If it's CRT based it could be your convergence needs adjusting.

It's an LCD - 720P

Philips Ambilight. I was one of the silly early adopters who paid £2000 for a 32" screen.

sounds like you're probably right about the answer... not a ton you can do apart from sharpness adjustments
