nope, when you insert the adapter it cuts off the battery, and even if it didn't you would be putting the the battery and adapter in parallel, which would still be 9V, just with more current. You would have to rewire the pedal so that the adapter doesn't switch off the battery and so that they battery and adapter are in series.

i really wanted to run at 18v and have been waiting for over a week for the stupid cable for my voodoo labs pedal power 2..

i have a big show coming up tomorrow.. i know it won't make a huge difference but i'd like to just have that taken care of.. d'oh
