View Full Version : correctly powering my pedals
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f310/burso/pedalboard.jpg
So here is my pedal board and I also have the Voodoo Lab pedal power 2 plus and the Voodoo Iso 5.
My question is how do I properly power my Whammy and POG? I think the POG is 18V so the Iso 5 18v out should work but do I need a special cable? This also need 500ms.. ??
My Whammy is 9v and it only works with the red tip cables...Why? Also its supposed to have 1300ma what sould I do because the pedal power can only supply 250ma???

I too use the PP2+ and the ISO-5. Good questions. The POG I'm quite sure is a center +, the problem there lies in the power in the power demands. As for the Whammy, wallwart looks like the only option? I plug into a powerstrip or the accessory outlet on the PP2+ when I need the Whammy as well. Good luck.
I can get the Whammy to work when I plug in the Red tip cables from the 7th position on the PP2. Is there a possibility that I will ruin the Whammy if I use this?

Yes - the Whammy requires AC, not DC
Really! The whammy is AC not DC? Why does it work when I plug in the power from the PP2?
Also, is Center Positive and Reverse polarity the same thing?
Is there anywhere I can read up on how and why different pedals use different power?

Talk to Dan at www.thegigrig.com , a walking power supply guru!
Apparently he's just finished a Whammy adaptor for their power system.

Check out Andreas' site. Very helpful, and there's a page in the site that list power requirements of pedals.

Hope this helps.
