It's probably been said before but it deserves to be said again. I just finished ordering another Scumback, this time an H75, from Jim and he is without a doubt one top notch guy. Customer service and product knowledge is second to none. And he so generously shares his wisdom with us here at the 'ole TGP.

A big cheers, Jim!

+10000.... and a funny guy to boot.
Love my Scumback. I also have the famous ASW KTS-70, but if I need to use just one speaker, I go for the Scumback

Jim is a very good guitar player. He took his enthusiasm for music, guitar, tube amps and speakers and made something happen. Good stuff.
He is really into Celestion greenbacks and has spent a lot of time analyzing what makes them sound the way they do by trying lots of them. Oh yeah, alnico too. I have a Scumbag amp and several Scumback speakers. I like 60's and 70's style rock tones with character.

I think I'm gonna get a new Emperor 2x12 so I can drop a pair of Scumbacks in there. Hope I find some used ones when it arrives.

Aw, come on....he's a fricking Scumbag. Oh...wait.... :rotflmao :bonk

You people are too kind to me. Glad I'm making someone happy as crazy as it's been here for the last several months, though. And now back to work...two cabs to finish, 8 speakers to ship, 4 more to put in the FBI/ISO cab...

I had a lot of Scumback speakers but found it irritating that they got mellower and mellower in sound the more I played them. They sounded good when they were new, like a good broken in original Celestion, but after several months I had the feeling that they were still breaking in and started loosing their edge. My ASW speakers don't do that. They stay consistent they way they came from the factory.

Change your tubes lately? :D

I don't know how long I've had mine, maybe 3 years? Mine don't seem to be getting mellower. H and M series.

:agree
I gotta tell you, that was what I thought when I read Rene's post, too. I've had these speakers for 6 years now, no issues of losing volume/edge or whatever. I have to constantly rape my demo cabs after people hear my broken in speakers, and then reload them with new ones and break them in all over again (thanks Rob @ Tone Merchants!).

I know Rene's sold several Scumbacks here on the TGP, and the people he's sold them to were real happy with them. In fact, several of them ordered more because they got Rene's "mellow" speakers.

Well, thanks for your past business, Rene! You've made me quite a few clients over the years, directly and indirectly. Good luck!

Love my Scumback speakers, no doubt about it! I'm just making my third order. As for Seavall...well...I guess he's okay if you like guys who do their best to be honest, forthright and try to honor their words. :D

My name is Rumblefish and I am a Scumbackaholic.
There . I feel better now.
I been playin' for 200 years and my life changed when I installed 4 H55's into my giant TV cab.
Now I just installed a 30 watt 12" Scumnico into a Avatar 1x12 cab and plugged my Valco 1624 amp into it. I be born again I tell ya!
So now I figure I need a 4x12 cab with 4 Scumnico's to run my '68 plexi with.Couldn't hurt.Could it?
Praise the lard!:bow

To be polite,I think if you don't like Scumbacks you need to get your hearing checked. You might be going blind in the ears.

I ordered my Scumnico speaker about 3 months just about the time I tore my tendons in my middle finger....it has sit in the box unopen until my cast comes off in 2 weeks which I will then put it in a cab and celebrate! I cant wait...i needed something to look foward to! You have no idea whats its been like to stare at my unopened Scumback for over 3 months!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome speakers from a super guy, I have a pair of H75's, a pair of M75's and a pair of Scumnico 10's. Love the speakers but hate the wait! My mother always told me that good things are worth waiting for....she was right!
