"Mr. Scary" still gets me everytime.
I used to be a big Dokken fan, the first guitar riff I learned was "In My Dreams" but years later the vocals and lyrics of that stuff kills it for me, like that "Into the Fire" is pretty lame.
BUT let George rip it up! He still looks like he could beat some ass. It's cool he's not all covered up in tats also.

Agree with Ed's post above. Always loved George's playing.

Still my favorite player of the 80's era.

When he is on, there are few who can touch him as an improvisational player.

Actually been jamming a lot of old Dokken songs lately. George has always had great phrasing and a melodic sensibility that I really connect to.

One of the more recognizable styles of the 80s. Not sure who, but one of his peers of that era said it sounded like a cat being strangled in a blender.

I'm not surprised Lynch Mob is covering several Dokken tunes. George has been lobbying for a reunion for a couple of years at least.

Lynch has played some of the most "heroic" guitar solos i've ever heard. Haven't cared for too much of his recent work, but i did like the album he did with Jeff Pilson a few years back.
I do have to thank him though. While i was dealing with my divorce i went to a Sam Ash clinic he did, and his playing that night lit the fire to get me out from the depression i was in. Thanks George!

Are you getting the ESPs or the LTDs? I've been wanting an M-1 Tiger but can't justify $2,700 for an MIJ Superstrat.

I figure I can buy the LTD, stick a Screamin' Demon in it and upgrade the hardware and electronics and have the same guitar for a fraction of the price.

I've tried both of those... I test drove the ESP kamakaze, too.

The ESP has a maple body. The LTD has a basswood body. The fret finish on the LTD version I was not impressed with, but you can get that done for another $100. Personally I won't pay over $1400 for a bolt on neck instrument.

It kind of did sound like a car getting strangled, maybe it was the recording?

im getting the esp's....... IMO thers really no comparison in quality and feel.....been ther done that with the ltd stuff and the higher end 600 signature series are killer guitars for the money but the esp's just feel more solid and have a better tonal quality

i already have a kamikaze 3 and have owned the real esp serpent. to me the japanese esps are of higher quality than say alot of the usa jacksons ive played.

especially all the lynch sigs they really are some of the sickest playing guitars esp makes. all the guitars i own now are japanese esp's and they make an amazing super strat. next on my list is an m1 tiger also but im looking for a used one in decent condition

Thanks for posting the vids. Always loved Lynch back in the 80's--also one of my faves of those days. Looks like you were right on stage. How about a gear report---what amps and pedals was he using that night? Thanks!
