My son just finalized a deal on a 1965 Vox AC-10SRT.
What an odd duck.
Supremely cool.
I can find very little info on this model so I figured, what better venue to ask but here on TGP.
Anyone knowledgeable on this critter?

I have never seen one in 40 years of playing electric. Extremely cool.

There was one a while back at the Hollywood GC. Pretty awesome looking rig. Congratulations.

Rare bird indeed.
I suggest you get in touch with Jim Elyea: http://www.voxguidebook.com/
He will probably have more info.

I think it's mentioned in there already. There weren't many of these, and there just isn't a whole lot of info about them. Way cool.

Very very cool. Can you post some gut shots of the amp?
Look how clean it is - and with trolley! Ridiculous! Like Indy Jones would say - "it belongs in a museum!"

Thanks for the replies folks.
I, too, will be excited to see some of the innards.
The amp is in transit as we speak to my son in Ann Arbor.
He located this amp at Emerald City Guitars in Seattle. It was owned by one of the amp techs there.
I think he said that it was the 5th one built. The real question is 5th out of how many?
Everything except a couple of caps I believe is totally original.
More to come and if anyone has additional knowledge and/or resourses for info please chime in.
Oh, I guess "chime" is a perfectly acceptable word to use in conjunction with a Vox:crazyguy

Does the reverb work? That's usually the Achilles's heel (although I understand they're great amps, reverb or no).

Yep, the reverb works but my son says it's very "subtle".
The info I have read (WWW.VOXSHOWROOM.COM) indicates that:
The AC10SRT used the infamous Vox crystal phono cartridge based reverb pan.
Tom Jennings, the president of Vox, resented having to pay the $1 per amp licensing fee charged by Hammond Accutronics fee for the use of their patented reverb pan. Instead, he designed his own reverb pan, just barely skirting the patents on the Accutronics unit.
The reverb pan designed by JMI used two 1 volt output ACOS GR71 or two Sonotone 2T crystal phono cartridges for drive and receive transducers. A single delay spring was connected to the needle saddles of each cartridge.
