I passed Richard Gere coming out of Sam Ash on 42nd street years ago, but I've never felt like a geek.

I really wanted to...then my daughter pulled a, "DAAAAAADDYYYYY, I WANT CHEESY PUFFS!" She got Reinhold's attention, that's for sure :)

A lot of people talk about the Shiva. What are its good points and bad points?
Meeting Mr. Bogner would just get me yakking about amps and the like.
I have been a geek for about 30 years now. No applause, thank you.

Try doing a search for "Shiva." There have been a lot of discussions about it.
Cool Bogner sighting! (he does stand out in a crowd usually, especially with his outfits and hats ;)

He's certainly no celebrity though it's cool you respected his privacy. He would have talked amps to you on the spot even between cheese puffs! I once saw Steve Vai at Carrows restaurant with his kid, obviously a no smooze zone...

His style might be just a bit eccentric, but he seems like a very cool dude and he would have probably been very happy to have talked to you.
Steve Vai is also a very nice guy and is nothing like his stage persona when he is just hangin' in the Encino hood. I have bumped into him a few times.

Ah you all are in my hood (kinda) too!
I would have shook the hand that built my (ex) Shiva and my
(current) Ecstasy Classic!
I would have bought him a 6 pack or a bottle of his favorite poison as well!

He was definitely in more toned-down attire....actually kinda sporty.

Once I was in Cleveland going to watch Jordan play against the Cavaliers and saw Eddie Murphy running across the road. I yelled Eddie, He turned and through up his hand right before I car slammed on the breaks and began to lay on the horn. Eddie smacked the hood of the car and started cursing. lol
I'll never forget that.

Depends on his mood. I saw Vai at the Guitar Center National Guitar Competition finals in Seattle in 2000. I was at the bar and he came in...... nodded hello with no intentions of following up and he was immediately set upon by some guy and grilled about something for a good 2 minutes and then he bailed outta there in a hurry and it was clear that he was not in a chatty mood....

You'll never forget that you almost had a part in him getting killed? Nice one.

Last year Dennis Hopper was in front of me at the liquor store last year. He bought a 5th, jumped on a Harley and peeled out of the parking lot.
Got to say Hi, he said hey and on he went.....
It was a cook encounter!

No wonder Bogners are so expensive.
Maybe they'd be more affordable if he shopped at WalMart.

I live in Maryland. I met Cal Ripken Jr. in a local sporting goods store just shopping for stuff. Totally cool individual. Much taller than you would think. He's gotta be at least 6'5.

Once walked smack dab right into the comedian Sinbad in Las Vegas many moons ago. It was during CES and neither one of us were paying attention to where we were walking. He was cool about it and just wanted to know I was ok. Much smaller in person than he looks onstage.

I met Reinhold Bogner at winter NAMM last year and he gave me a Bogner t-shirt! Of course, my girlfriend ended up with it. :( He was real nice.
