That's less than 50 watts...
Ability to do Fender Cleans is a plus.
Head < $1000
or
Combo <$1.6k
The Fargen Miniplex II is essentially what I'm after, but it's too expensive.

Maybe the Reinhardt JKC33. In Vintage mode it will have the shared cathode of the 800. There's one on EBay

Marshall DSL does a good JTM45 clean tone on the green channel's clean mode. The Crunch mode is JCM800 territory.
Great sounding amp.

I think how happy you will be will depend on how picky that you are. For covering vintage to more modern tones the Emplexador was the best amp that I was able to find, although it is a bit out of your price range. It also depends on what your idea of a jcm800 is. Some people seem to think that a jcm800 is just a plexi style amp with more gain but it really isn't. It's a very different amp and it breaks up in a very different way from the 4hole plexi era amps. If you want a jtm45 sound with the ability to have more gain on tap it will be hard to beat what Reinhardt is offering, although you'll have to go used to meet your price point. I would surf his site and see if one of his amps doesn't satisfy what you're going for.
