Leaving for Vegas in a few days. Got any last minute advise? This is my first trip. Not a gambler, staying two nights at the tail end of a backpacking/mountain bike adventure with some friends. Anything in particular that I should make it a point to do or see?

Don't mess with Tyson's tiger.

Check out Cowtown Guitars (http://www.cowtownguitars.com/). Wynn's Encore (http://www.encorelasvegas.com) is stunning. CityCenter (http://www.citycenter.com/) is pretty cool too.

heh...OP I didn't think I was a gambler either until I went.
Add some women, big buffets and free drinks...it becomes enticing

Just spent some time in Vegas, and this place was so nice, we did it twice. Chill out on some huge couches tiered stadium style - get there for happy hour and your appetizers will be only a few bucks. I'm a soda drinker, and that glass was unlimited free refills, oh yeah. So load up on the cheap emeril-approved apps, drink all night, and watch every single sports game on that night live.

Even if you don't gamble, the iPad-like betting device is cool. they give you a voucher to get you started, and you can bet on the fly, like "will this guy make his free throw?" pretty fun stuff, especially during the playoff atmosphere going on right now.

Prepared for some SPICY crawfish? Go here. Insane. Delicious. Like Seafood Shanty on crack. Plus, it takes you out to the huge sprawling Vegas Chinatown, where you can get any asian anything, including cheap long good massages.

Go to a comedy club and have some laughs.

Go to a music show if you find one up your ally.

Go check out Freemont St.

Go to a casino and just do a bunch of people watching.

The place is a trip. It's kinda sad right now (well, last summer anyway) since most of the construction already started was stopped due to the shit economy. I guess excess is always the first to be paused.

You can also see how many stripper playing cards given away on the strip you can collect. Seems to be a whole family activity.

Oh - and the best "classy" cheap poker tourneys are at the Luxor, running plenty of times every day. The best "nasty" cheap poker tourney is O'Shea's, including some really late night times. And occassional eye candy from the stage to your left, which is really distracting while you're trying to connect your straight...

I had a really good time at the Ghost Bar last time I was there. It was a welcome change from Rain where I was prior to that.

Avoid the roofie's and by all means don't marry an escort.

Check out the Hoover Dam and Mount Charleston. Both are beautiful, close to Vegas and yet like another world.

If a pretty girl asks you if you'd like a date, the correct answer is "NO". Repeat after me.... "NO"
