Does anyone use SA (seismic audio) Cabs??

Im looking into getting an unloaded cab, either a 1x12 or a 2x12. I want something good but not to expensive as this will be a bedroom amp. SA audio has some of the cheapest prices but that probably for good reason. Does anyone on here own anything by them??

Well, we definitely aren't claiming to be "top of the line" or anything like that......I loaded one of our cabs with a wgs and a weber and use it live....Our SA 2x12EPro is constructed of mdf sides and birch front and back baffles. A lot of people aren't too keen on the mdf, our new line is going to be all birch. A lot of people have told me that they preferred the mdf because they felt that they could drive their amps/speakers harder and the mdf seemed to dampen and attenuate the volume. I am not sure on whether or not mdf can have that effect.

For the most part, our prices are so low because of the volume we deal in (a lot of cables/snakes and pa subs). We spec everything out here in Memphis, and then have in manufactured overseas. That turns some people off, but since I have been here I have been shocked by how many "premium" companies not only have their stuff made in china but in some cases the same manufacturing facilities as other companies. I've learned a lot about the whole "paying for a name" since I have been here.

Thanks for the heads up on the birch Daryl! How soon do you expect these new cabs to be in stock?

Will the birch be used in your subwoofer and PA cabs as well?

If you're going to leave this a bedroom amp, there's generally nothing wrong with MDF construction. Definitely not recommended for gigging, though some DJs haul them around. Beware of moisture ( MDF will swell, then dissolve into sawdust) and cockroaches. Cockroaches have been known to make HUGE colonies inside MDF speaker cabs and will actually eat the stuff (I have NO idea what's nutritious to a cockroach, but that leftover sliver of soap that you usually throw away will also sustain them for a very long time). MDF isn't great with impact integrity, so don't drop it and don't drop anything ON it.

MDF is used a lot in home stereo speakers primarily because it's cheap and because it doesn't have a lot of resonance in the audio spectrum. It dampens and attenuates nothing.

No prob! We are talking about whether or not to make the switch for all of the enclosures to all birch or not. Right now the Enforcer II 18" sub is all birch, everything else has birch front baffles and the guitar cabs have birch rear baffles (the rest being mdf). All of our cabs are braced and the joined nicely.
