Love dark roast. I put 2-3 splenda's or Sugar in the Raw in and go.

If you add something to it it's no longer coffee.

Anything less than dark roast is just hot brown water.

I love how coffee becomes a test of manhood.

Dark roast has to be done right or it just tastes like charcoal. The dirty secret is that most dark roasts are inferior beans, over-roasted to promote shelf-life. Darker roast doesn't always mean a better taste profile, either.

Okay, fair enough ... then let's just say I like my coffee "rich and full-bodied" — regardless of actual color.

Lighter roasts also pack more caffeine, which I particularly enjoy in the morning.

Dark Roast for anything European or African.

Medium Roast for anything from Columbia or Hawaii.

I like light roast made strong, nothing added. It has to be a good quality coffee so it doesn't get bitter when made strong.

I like my coffee the way I like my chocolate, beer, and women. Strong, dark, and bitter.

I prefer dark by a MILE, but with dark roasts, you're losing a lot of the inherent flavor of the bean and are tasting more of the body of the roast.

I like dark roasts, but I have started trying medium roasts pressed with more grounds for a stronger cup. If you use too many grounds with a dark roast it gets too acidic very quickly.

Ever since I tried Kona coffee on the Mauna Loa tour in Hawaii, I've been a medium roast fan, though I won't turn up a good French roast. . .

Irish, preferably from the Buena Vista in San Fransisco.
Other than that I'm not a coffee drinker.

I prefer light to medium roast. There are a few dark roasts that I like, but I tend to avoid them. I like my coffee to be the opposite way that I like my beer. I tend to drink dark beers.

I normally choose dark, e.g., French roast or espresso beans ground fine and brewed strong.
