View Full Version : Compact power-amp for W/D/W setup.
I'm trying to keep my rig as small as posssible, and I'm on a quest for a small, but decent power amp. Ideally a 1U of some sorts.
Anyone know of any good quality stereo power amps like that?
The wet sides will have plenty of dry signal, so it should be decent sounding.
I can can go 2U if absolutely necessary of course.
Second question. My Amps "Dumbleator" is half-rack sized, any solutions for mounting it in a rack? Rack shelf?

Rocktron Velocity 300 is a really nice, warm SS poweramp with reactance and presence features. Quiet, doesn't seem to get warm (not at all - running into a 75 watt 1x12 and even playing it loud the fan has not come on once), no pops or hiss and just nice clean power. And it's cheap.
I'm running the Eleven Rack with it and find it really great. May not be a big buck tube poweramp but it's 1U and isn't that heavy. My rack with the 11R and poweramp is easy to move.

An older Mosvalve used would be great as well.
As far as the 1/2 rack, I think I'd buy a rack 'blank' cut it down to size and extend the 1/2 to a full rack unit. Or you could use a shelf.
What brand of head is that?

Ah thanks! The Rocktron seems perfect for what I want.

Thanks, I've seen a few of those Mosvalves around here.
The amp is a Brown Note ODF-100 (http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=730270) :)
