Boss OS-2 not that bad (?)

Seem all the negativity about the Boss OS-2 overdrive distortion pedal, I took some time to check one out last Saturday.

I actually liked the idea of mixing the two modes, lots of flexibility concerning overdrive and/or distortion sounds. Any mid-scope was tolerable, tested with a Strat and a Cube-60 clean channel which for me is the ultimate litmus test if an od/distortion sounds good or terrible.

So what are the bad vibes about OS-2?

Seriously, I had one when I was younger, in the early 90s, and liked it. I don't remember it sounding bad, but that was before boutique everything... Sometimes I get nostalgic and think about buying another one.
