I just joined over the weekend. Got the basic package with Blu-ray add-on, for $11 a month. That's just silly. I've been paying $4-5 to rent movies on my AppleTV, sometimes a few times a week.

I can stream to any of my computers in my house, my iPad, Xbox 360 or PS3. I have a Mac Mini attached to my TV in my bedroom, and I've been watching Arrested Development (never got around to catching this series, freaking hilarious), streaming on demand. After the wifey fell asleep last night, I watched a few episodes on my iPad as well.

Signed up Saturday morning, and the first Blu-ray from my queue was here Monday morning!

I'm not a shill or anything. I'm just blown away that I didn't do this sooner. I even had Blockbuster's lame attempt several years ago for a while. I am seriously considering cutting my cable now. I never use my box. The only thing I'll miss is ESPN.

But I watch all Saints games (and other, lesser NFL games :D) at my Dad's every Sunday (man-ritual), so I'm not too concerned about it. Especially not when I could be saving $130 a month.

Anybody else cut their cable with a similar setup?

I use Netfix, love it. Got rid of cable. Watch most TV shows that I want online. If I need to watch a game I have friends. Don't miss cable at all.

But Netfix is cool. Send a movie out Monday, have a new one Wednesday. It has never once taken longer than that. Had if for two years.

Yes, same here. I was paying $150 a month with Dish Network for every available channel (except pron). Now, I pay $15ish a month for 2 DVDs by mail (all my favorite TV seems to be mail only), and watch instant movies all the time via my Xbox.

Rumor is, ESPN will be available soon via the 360 for most things except NFL. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ytech_gadg/20100614/tc_ytech_gadg/ytech_gadg_tc2588)

Most of the good shows are DVD only through Netflix, but you can watch almost all current programming the day after it airs online at either hulu or the tv network websites

And ESPN 3 has alot of sports to watch online also. This used to be called ESPN 360.

What we do normally is have one movie and one TV show at a time from Netflix.

Mine is long gone from "current". For some reason Paramount will not allow any Star Trek series to be streamed. I'm working my way through 7 seasons of TNG, 7 seasons of DS9, 7 seasons of Voyager, and 4 seasons of Enterprise. None are available streaming.

At 4 episodes a disc, two discs a week, I figure I'll be finished by 2050.

Yeah, I have almost all TV shows in my queue. Mad Men S3, and Dexter S4 as soon as it becomes available. Thinking of checking out Deadwood and Carnivale as well.

Netflix is great. I just bought a new LED Wi-Fi ready tv over the weekend and now I can stream to my tv without even having to mess with the computer. It's pretty damn cool.

Canceled DirecTV in January. No problem with the service, just never watched it. Got Netflix and Hulu... for the little TV I watch that's more than sufficient, and WAY cheaper!

Damn...wish I could drop cable! Have Netflix and love it too.
I don't watch that much tv personally, but the wife and young kids do.

I envy you guys that can 'afford' to drop cable. I have FIOS tv.

We havent had cable for 3 years now. With Netflix is amazing.
With Hulu and Netflix why would you even need cable??

Don't start Deadwood unless you want to be disappointed by them ending the show without warning.

It's a LG LED-LCD HDTV. It had a little Netflix sticker stuck on it and already has the Netflix menu built in. Honestly, the whole Netflix thing was the only reason I even bought a new TV. I went in looking for a new DVD player and instead walked out with this (and they threw in a free blueray player!).

I love it and am about to cancel my cable, as well. The Netflix will be a very handy replacement, but we're really cancelling cable due to our being a single income family with a stay home Mommy and 9 month old to support.
