I just got a Gretsch Electromatic Double Jet. Thing looks and plays great. I'm probably going to drop a TV Jones Powertron Plus in the bridge.

The double cutaway is a little awkward and there really isn't anywhere else that I could put the strap button that I'm aware of. The guitar is top heavy and doesn't sit as comfortably as I would like. This is my first double cutaway and I spend more time keeping the guitar in place than I would like to. I've got a big leather strap, is there anything I could do with it to add balance or stability???

Any suggestions?? I'm open to anything

I forgot to attach a picture, here you can see where the majority of the weight is on the horn strap button. Would it be better to have a button placement like that of an SG??

judging by that picture, it might indeed balance better on the heel instead of the horn.

I think the strap button might be better on the heel. Most double cutaways (strats, SGs, 335s) all have larger horns which places the strap button closer to where it sits normally on a single cutaway guitar.

My estimate is that if the strap button where moved to the heel it would be about two inches closer to the neck side of the guitar.

Does anyone know where go get a good strap button for the heel of a guitar?? I've seen some wide flat ones on the back of 335's that won't rub up against the player as much.
