That's right, fedex delivered my iPhone 4 today, a day early. I am impressed. The retina display is awesome. I upgraded from a first generation and wow, what a difference. It is smoking fast. The HD video is amazing. I can't wait to try out face time. I didn't think it would be that different than my older iPhone, but wow! Anybody else get theirs already?

I pre-ordered on the 15th but got a call today that my phone did not come in. Supposedly the store did not get any 32gb phones in yet. Just 16gbs. I wish I hadnt put all my eggs in one basket because Im guessing that I wont be seeing the phone for atleast a couple of weeks. Damn Radio Shack! I guess I can wait..Im going to check out Best Buy after work tomorrow and see if they have any but its a longshot.

Mine came in today, and I agree: the retina display is freaking awesome. I would upgrade for the screen, alone.

For some reason my network wouldn't take pre-orders, queued for 5 hours today. The phone is really cool, but I will never do that again!

I'm trying to decide if 4g is more important than owning the iPhone... I may buy a 4G phone for a year and wait out the next generation with 4g support (how close is AT&T to getting 4G up and running?)

iPhone 4G means 4th generation. Has nothing to do with a 4G network, which I don't expect to see from AT&T anytime soon.

I was totally gung-ho about getting one of these until I couldn't get my order in. Sorry, but I don't see why I should jump through someone's hoops just to give them money.

Then again, I do own a Klon...

So what's the deal on upgrades?

I got my 3GS last year. would I still qualify for UNLIMITED DATA? Do I need a new contract? Does it extend my contract time?

Anyone know?

Yup, know dat. Talked to Apple, and they would not confirm or deny that the iPhone 4 will work on 4G networks, if/when ATT rolls it out. He was hinting that it would, but it was clear he couldn't state that out loud to me.

Fascinating... that's a big part of why I'm hesitating. I hate AT&T just like everyone else, although it gets the job done for now... but man, once everyone starts using FaceTime, what's that going to do to an already maxed-out network? Bad things, I imagine.

I could be wrong, but I think I read that Facetime only works iPhone to iPhone 4, and it is Wi-Fi only.... not 3G.... so that won't suck up network bandwidth ...

When the Verizon iPhone comes out I'll be impressed. Until then, it's completely worthless to me.

Don't understand where all the ATT hate comes from .... I have excellent service. No dropped calls (rarely, can't say the same for Sprint when I was on their plan). 3G coverage is excellent. Zero issues. They are slightly more expensive than the others, but you get what you pay for.

Guess it depends where you live. I'm right smack in the middle of Minneapolis and I probably drop every other call at some point. I have to hit accept on new calls and then count to three otherwise there's that whole awkward "hello?" "hello?" "hello?" "hello?" "is anyone there?" "adam?" "hey what's up!"

unlimited is grandfathered, but if you leave it you can't go back. you sign a new 2-year contract with the new phone.

I waited in line for 4 hours and got mine today. It was hot but I met some really great people (musicians!) while I was in line so overall a fun experience.

I was eligible for an upgrade and got a 32gb black phone. Cost around $340 all told. My unlimited data plan at $30/month was grandfathered; salesperson said he recommended it because as you mentioned I can't get it back once I leave it.

Love the phone; no issues whatsoever yet but still setting it up.

Mine arrived yesterday as well. After one day of use, and coming from a 3GS, it is still an incredible phone. So fast. The phone feels much better made too, better quality. Or at least it seems that way. Haven't noticed any signal increase or anything but then again, I'm on of the lucky ones who doesn't have problems with AT&T. The retina display is unreal. So slick. The camera is ok, much better than the 3G or 3GS for sure but, just ok. iOS4 runs so quick on it. I will probably still put a screen protector on it, just anal about that kind of stuff.

Already being ragged by my Verizon friends about the new Droid X blowing it away and this and that. I'm so tired of that crap. Just buy what you want and I'll do the same. Who the frog nuts cares? Anyhow, haven't had a chance to use FaceTime because the wife isn't eligible for the full upgrade yet but, she will be in a month or two. That will be cool. Luckily for me I am rarely out of range of some sort of WiFi. Still keeping with my unlimited data plan at this time but, I am going to see if it is worth it to downgrade. Considering how good video looks on this phone in HD, I may keep the unlimited. Either way, that is my .02. Another wonderful product out there for people with money to spend!

I got to play with one today. The screen is amazing. I still don't know if I am going to take the plunge just yet as my 3GS runs the new OS great. Just waiting to see how it affects my battery life it at all since I just upgraded 2 days ago and it is on its first full charge with the new OS.

I also personally like the looks of the 3G/3GS better......but you can't have it all.

Got to hold it and mess around with it a bit today. Very nice but I think I may try another phone with 4g for a while. I really want a better camera too.

Agreed! I will likely never own an iPhone because of AT&T but that doesnt mean I dont sweat them hardcore. I will buy what I like on Verizon and its as pretty simple as that. Even if/when something can possibly beat the iPhone, I/people will still sweat the iPhone...

Even when the Droid X comes out, I wont get it. The incredible seems to be much more up my alley. The Incredible will be outdated before you know it; however, I know that it is the best phone available to suit ME on the service provider that I want.

Its all about choices. I cant wait to play with the iPhone4 that my friend just bought! :drink

My son's came yesterday. its quite cool.. facetime works wonderfully.. Mine is coming around July 6th.. I didn't even try to order mine the first day.. placed an order with apple the second day with no problems...

I'm also very happy with AT&T ... no service issues where I go.. Actually I dislike verizon A LOT.. but im in the minority..When and if Verizon gets the iphone (probably next year).. they will also modify their data plans for new users as well..
