any opinions on this amp as far as quality, tone, bang for the buck for an old time bluesman.
I like what I heard but as always everything always sounds great in the music store:stir

I've never tried one but I'll get the ball rolling; seems to me that everyone who tries one is amazed by the new AC15c, which is more than ever before like a little AC30.
Based on reports, I'd choose one of those over the older ac15cc. I have an ac30cc and love it, but they dropped the ball with the ac15cc by most accounts.
which model?
I have the AC15H1TV. Great Vox tones, jangle, chime, and crunch, sag and bloom, spank whatever the term is, it is my fav amp (more useable at home than my AC30, which I use much cleaner, due to volume limits here ;) - the EF86 channel is worth it alone IMO, and having the '63 top boost channel too, even better. I run it as-is, for old pop, rock and hard rock. I have a small pedal board with a tuner, JangleBox (compressor) and an AB pedal to change channels.
IMO: The Custom Classic was very good, but not what I wanted; I have not tried the new Custom series.

I just got the AC15C1 (newest one) and am absolutely in love (see avatar... :) )
It's the kind of clean I want and it crunches very nicely. Excellent amp with and without dirt pedals. Handles delay great (and I use delay quite often)
Here's mine with my new Godin Session. Great setup.

Can anyone make a comparison between this and the ac15/30 tbx? I'm looking to lighten my load.

I'm less than three months into my AC15C1 (the newer model) and I'm still loving it. Great overal tone, good speaker, nice features, good sound 'verb and trem. One of the best price to performance values out there IMHO... I no longer care that it's made in China. I can't wait to pair it up with a low powered 6V6 Fender amp (TBD) in stereo.
I've updated the preamp tubes already with JJs and I'm going to get some new power tubes soon as well.

+2. very cool amp, and in addition to two great sounding channels, you can jumper them

Hey FB, what are your thoughts on the new JJ's?
As for the stereo setup, I'm right there with you. I have a Fender Deluxe 85 red knob (SS) that I plan on running with the AC15 out of my M13. Should be interesting.

Yep i can. I had the chance to AB the new AC15C1 with a AC15TB UK model.
First off theres a big difference in volume. The UK run full out is equal to about halfway on the C1. Not sure why, but theres a huge difference between the 2.
Verb and Trem on the C1 are more present, the UK is much subtle in that regard.
Cleans are much cleaner on the C1. The overdrive on the UK is smoother from what i heard, mind you i should mention that the UK model had 2 10" alnicos in it and the Greenback in the C1 hasnt been broken in yet.
I dont think the UK model was victim to the "bright cap" problems of the Custom Classic models, nor does the C1 seem to have that issue.
Overall i think both are great amps. But i still prefer the UK model. The UK model had that "clean with a bit of grit" sound.
I think it really depends on application. For playing live I'd definitely say C1 is the best way to go. I think the UK model would get lost in the mix if not miced. I think the UK model would excel best for studio or recording. Just my 2 cents.

I like the amp much better, the tone changed some for the better. I'm also considering adding a 12AU or Y in V1 or 2 to change the head room a bit, but not right away... I wanna ride these for a while first. I'm expecting a bigger change when I change the power tubes next week.
