Vintage-mid 70's I believe. They pop up in the 500-600 pirce range on ebay from time to time. Instant Jeff Beck-he used one.

Have you tried the Foxrox Octron or MXR Bass Octave Deluxe?

Only octave ive fooled with is an hbe UFO

Mike the HBE is an octavia or octave up pedal (Hendrix/Landau, etc)-the Colorsound and the ones I mentioned do the octave down that you hear in the video-really great sound for all kinds of applications.
