Anyone know anything about his technique? I can hear a ton of pulloffs/ hammer-ons and whenever I see him play I can't tell if he uses a hybrid style or not, it looks as if he picks every string. BTW if you've never seen him play type in freaker by the speaker on youtube and watch the 1st video that comes up, it's a very good showcase of the technique i'm talking about.

Hey that's a pretty cool lick. I checked a few other songs and he does those similar roll type licks too. He does them off chord forms, and I see him slapping his index finger on a barre. Someparts were flatpicked and definitely hear hammers/pulls and slaps mixed in there on some. I didn't watch enough of them, but he might use a thumbpick which could lend itself well to that style. I'll have to check some more out later.

The more I'm watching, I see him using just a flatpick, no thumbpick at least on what I saw and not much if any, hybrid. He tunes down, and plays very percussively with lots of left hand muting, and mixes rest stroke for the down and the up is very percussive freestroke. He tends to start those fast fills with hammers from an open string to a fretted bass note of the chord.

Yeah I thought it looked like he was using only a pick w/out hybrid. Hybrid would make some of his licks easier but I wanna learn them using a pick cuz it sounds like a great technique to have.

My old guitar teacher, whose a big fan, showed me how to play keller style, I even saw him open up for keller. He uses a LOT of hammer on to muted pull offs. Think primus' laquerhead, the way you mute the strings and its real percussive. He hammers on with his pointer finger or middle, and then picks another string within the chord. It sounds like triplets.
